Bugatti has entered the smartwatch market in a collaboration with manufacturer VIITA.
The watch series will have three distinct styles: the Bugatti Creamique Edition One Pur Sport, the Bugatti Ceramique Edition One Le Noire, and the Bugatti Ceramique Edition One Divo—each made up of more than 1,000 parts.
The smartwatches are being funded via Kickstarter, with US$52,377 of the US$60,966 goal raised to date.
Featuring scratch-resistant ceramic and high-strength titanium, the timepieces can track up to 90 different sports, and come with heart rate monitoring and VO2 Max reading capabilities. Other highlights include GPS, blood oxygen level monitoring, and sleep tracking.
The operating system was also created by Bugatti and VIITA, and a bespoke app will be made available to both Android and iOS users. Although the smartwatches can be paired with any phone, they won’t be able to sync with Google Fit or Apple Health, though they can be integrated with the Strava app.
One of their standout features is their incredibly long battery life of 14 days between charges. Most smartwatch wearers will find they have to charge their devices every one to two days, so two whole weeks of no charging is pretty incredible.
This long battery life is in spite of a full color LED touchscreen, making the Bugatti smartwatch a great option for those always on the go.
As with everything else made by Bugatti, it also comes with a rather hefty price tag. The smartwatches start at €899 (approximately US$1,095) on Kickstarter, and are expected to be ready by October.
Orders arrive in a luxurious presentation box befitting of the Bugatti name, made from vegan leather and sustainable wood.
