Celebrating My Google Digital Marketing and E-Commerce Certificate with a Photo Shoot - Just Brennon Blog

In my first quarter blog review, I noted that I had recently completed my Google Digital Marketing and E-Commerce certificate. And, let me tell you, it was no small feat. So, to celebrate such a significant milestone in my career, I wanted to take the time to capture the moment and fully celebrate.

To commemorate this achievement, I decided to treat myself to a photo shoot and a solo lunch date at Casa Del Mar Mexican Restaurant. Keep reading, as I take you through this unforgettable experience – and, I mean, unforgettable.

What is Digital Marketing?

But, first, let’s chat briefly about what digital marketing is. Digital marketing is simply promoting your business online and using a multitude of channels. These digital channels include search engines, social media, email, websites, mobile applications, and more.

Courses can include topics such as Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, content marketing, and concepts of search engine optimization (SEO) – just to name a few. As a matter of fact, you can check out this website to see how various digital marketing strategies perform.

By learning and utilizing digital marketing tactics, you can reach potential customers, build a brand presence, increase website traffic, and generate leads – which are all very important in the digital space, especially blogging.

Speaking of Blogging…

I love that I invested time into myself to complete the Digital Marketing and E-Commerce course because not only does it help me do a better job at blogging but it also makes me more competitive and happier in the workplace which is important for employee satisfaction.

In fact, according to SEO Company Toronto, “an employee’s level of satisfaction in the workplace has a direct impact on their productivity, motivation, and overall job performance”. I want to do well at my job, and this achievement helps.

With all of that said and the background laid, let’s jump into how I kicked off my celebration.

Capturing the Moment: The Photo Shoot

To kick off my celebration, I enlisted the expertise of a professional photographer to capture this special milestone. In the past when I graduated from both high school and college, I never had professional photos taken and I never walked across the stage, so I wanted to be sure to do things the way I would have wanted them back then.

So, I called up my photographer buddy to capture some photos of me holding my certificate and some digital marketing balloons. But, here’s where things get interesting.

I decided that I would do an entire photo shoot of family photos with my children for Mother’s Day, as well as the celebratory photos with the certificate.

BAD IDEA!

The beginning of the photo shoot went well. The photographer was able to capture numerous photos of us together, as well as individual photos, and group photos of the children.

After about 25 minutes of poses around the park, they were getting ancy. My nine-month-old daughter was beginning to make howling noises and her allergies started to make her nose run. During her session, she took off crawling on the concrete and scraped her knees, and had to be put in the stroller.

At the same time, my two boys began tapping and plucking on each other which turned into a very loud argument at this very beautiful and peaceful park. People were looking around, and I was still trying to get these photos done, as the one-hour session had already been paid for. Whew!

I paused during the shoot, separated the boys, and made sure my daughter was pulled close and comfortable in her stroller, hoping to get just a few photos with this darn certificate and balloons. But, no. With the lovely wind breezing through, the balloons were knocking me all upside the head and it turned into one of the most frustrating shoots ever. Whew!

But, we made it through. I was able to capture a few photos with the certificate and the balloons. Do I love them? No, not really, but hey, I got them done.

So, here’s a note to self that I am sharing with you based on experience.

Don’t you dare couple family photos with personal interest photos. Hahaha!

Casa Del Mar Mexican Restaurant | A Solo Celebration

Anywho, aside from the photo shoot to commemorate the experience, I treated myself to a solo lunch date. There was no way that I was taking chances on messing this up. Haha!

I chose one of my favorite restaurants, Casa Del Mar Mexican Restaurant which has a reputation as a culinary gem, known for its authentic Mexican flavors and warm ambiance.

The menu offers a wide array of traditional dishes, each carefully crafted with fresh ingredients and bold flavors from sizzling fajitas to mouthwatering enchiladas. I chose a taco loco lunch special alongside a traditional margarita on rocks with a salted rim.

While savoring my lunch and margarita, I expressed gratitude for the chance to acquire fresh knowledge that would elevate my skills and boost my workplace satisfaction. However, what mattered most was the ability to fully indulge in that moment, enjoying it in solitude without any disruptions.

Final Thoughts

Celebrating my Google Digital Marketing and E-Commerce certificate through Coursera with a photo shoot and a solo lunch at Casa Del Mar Mexican Restaurant was a truly memorable experience. It allowed me to commemorate my achievements, honor the hard work invested, and embrace the journey that brought me to this significant milestone.
