Digital Marketing Career Advice for Students | Impression

We were recently given the opportunity to speak to Nottingham College students about what it’s like to work in digital marketing and how to kick start a career in the industry. As part of our ongoing efforts to inspire the next generation of digital marketers, Laura Hampton and Edd Wilson took the time to share their own experiences to help students understand their options.

Taking part in initiatives like this is something that Impression is really passionate about. With so many exciting opportunities available in the sector, we want students to know that a career in digital is always an option, regardless of background or experience.

In both sessions, Laura and Edd talk in detail about what their roles entail and how they’ve got to where they are today. They both highlight the importance of showing passion and being open to learning. If you’re in the early stage of your career and you’re not sure what path you want to take, Laura explains that recognising what you enjoy doing is a great way to inform your career choice. Whilst the pandemic has limited work experience opportunities, you’ll find it reassuring to know that there are many other ways to immerse yourself in the industry and plenty of handy tools and resources to help you to build your knowledge in the early stages of your career.

If you’re a student that’s interested in working in digital marketing, watch the videos below to gain an idea of what it’s like to work in the industry. You can also find Laura and Edd on Twitter if you have any more questions.
