Digital Marketing Intern, New Writing North

Salary: £17,290, full-time, 12-month fixed term contract

New Writing North is the literature development agency for the North of England. We are looking for a Digital Marketing Intern to work on an exciting range of projects across the organisation.

We’re a team of 14 staff based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Our work is busy, creative and varied. We support writers at all stages of their careers, commission new writing, run an extensive young people’s programme, and produce a wide range of activities for readers, including Durham Book Festival.

The Digital Marketing Intern has a particular responsibility for social media and newsletters, as well as supporting the broader marketing programme. Tasks might include updating the website; collating data; undertaking small in-house design jobs; or basic editing.

This is a great entry-level opportunity for someone who is interested in marketing and literature; who is excited by the way social media can help us to engage and inspire our audiences; and who is keen to gain experience working in arts administration.

Please note that this position is part-funded by Northumbria University and is only open to graduates of Northumbria University. You may have graduated from the university at any time.

Remote working

Due to Covid-19, the New Writing North team is currently working from home. It is expected that the post-holder would work from home from January-March 2021. It is our intention that the team would then move to a combination of working part-time in the office and at home, when it is safe to do so and following Government advice.

The New Writing North office is in central Newcastle. Please note that this office is on the second floor of a building that is not currently accessible. If access to the office would be problematic for the post-holder, we will consider requests for the role to be home-based for the duration of the contract.

Whether office or home-based, the post-holder should be available for occasional meetings in central Newcastle.

Apply via our website https://newwritingnorth.com/vacancies/ by 9am on 8th December
