A single dollar bill signed by the world’s richest man is being auctioned off for over US$2,000.
The autographed bill is a Series 2017 note that has Musk’s signature in black on the back of the item. It has also been rated PSA GEM MT 10 by the auctioneers, RR Auction.
The item is being sold by Musk’s ex-girlfriend Jennifer Gwynne, who Musk met at the University of Pennsylvania back in 1994.
It’s no surprise that the holder of the top spot on Forbes’ Richest of 2022 list has a Midas touch as the US$1 note has attracted 17 bids, with a current top bid of US$2,929. RR Auction predicts that the final price could be above US$5,000 at the end of the event, which will conclude in a month’s time.
Gwynne is also selling off old photos of Musk, which are now going for US$100 each. These photos include ones of him alone, with her, or with their friends.
Birthday cards he had written to her are also going on sale and are expected to hit US$10,000 in sales. The card was given to Gwynne in 1995 and wished her a Happy Birthday before being signed off, “Love, Elon,” at the bottom of the card.
Included in the sale is also a 14K gold necklace he gave her, along with 100 other keepsakes from their time together.
According to , Gwynne intends to use the earnings for her stepson’s college tuition.
Musk isn’t the only billionaire to have things of his auctioned off. Previously, a little league baseball card of Mark Zuckerberg went to the auction block as well.
