July’s employee spotlight focuses on Audrey Coates, Digital Marketing Consultant. Read on to learn more about her role at TMC!
What is your position here at The Modern Connection and what do you do?
I am the Digital Marketing Consultant at The Modern Connection. I am the first step in the process when seeking information on digital marketing, so I sit down with Business Owners / Business Decision makers to discussing their goals and see which service meets their needs.
What did you do before working at The Modern Connection?
Prior to working at The Modern Connection I worked at a local software company on the Support Team. I was the first point of contact for system and website issues, and would trouble shoot / try to provide a fix prior to filing the bug with the Developers.
Prior to moving to Charleston I worked for a YouTube affiliate in Los Angeles in Events and Productions.
How did you learn to do what you do?
I earned my Bachelor’s degree through Elon University in Media Arts & Entertainment in 2015. Throughout my career I have learned how to time manage projects and strategize prior to moving forward with implementing anything that affects brand image or growth. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Business Owners / Decision Makers on developing Digital Strategy to ensure success with online efforts.
What is your favorite project you’ve worked on at The Modern Connection?
My favorite project at The Modern Connection thus far was when we had a Fortune 500 potential client approach us. It was really awesome to work with the team on their strategy and developing graphics.
What do you love about working at The Modern Connection?
I love that my day is never the same at The Modern Connection. One day I could have back to back consults where I get to talk to incredible Business Owners about their dreams and goals for their company, and the next I could be doing a public speaking event or teaching a class.
What is your favorite quote that applies to your work?
My favorite quote for work: “You did not wake up to be mediocre.” I believe that everyone has a mission in life and we achieve that mission through our daily work. We all have amazing qualities, dreams, and aspirations that are unique to us, and remembering that fact each and every day is crucial. I don’t believe in being mediocre or doing something half way, you’re either all in or you need to find something that you’re passionate about where you can give it your all.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Outside of work I love running, grabbing tacos with friends, exploring new places, and playing with my puppy.
