Fresh Marketplace to feature peach festival

The Fresh Marketplace at New Wilmington Center will host peach festival this Saturday.

The market is located at 129 S. Chestnut St. behind Mugsies Coffee House, is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Chef Tim Hering will lead the Kids Corner from 10 a.m. to noon, making chef hats and decorating peach cookies. Every child participating in the activity will receive a token to redeem for a special treat at the Fresh Marketplace Consignment Table.

Tyler Jenkins Trio, an acoustic band from Kinsman, Ohio, who perform country, classic rock, blues, some 90’s hits, and hits from 2010 and up, will play from 10 a.m. to1 p.m. Band members are Tyler Jenkins, lead guitar; Shane Munnell, slide, mandolin, and rhythm; and Gary Jenkins, bass.

The Fresh Marketplace each week features produce and goods including peaches, corn, zucchini, greens, tomatoes, peppers, green beans, carrots, beets, pasture-raised poultry, lamb, pork, and beef, organic eggs, cheese, Fresh Marketplace Smoothies and Amish donuts. Local handmade items include lotion, soap, beeswax and soy candles, tinctures, herbal salves, chocolates, granola bars, organic breads, fresh flowers, honey and maple syrup. Ready to eat meals will be available from the Fresh Marketplace Grill and Haitian Sensation.

The Fresh Marketplace at New Wilmington Center is a central hub for the regional community to buy and sell local goods and products. The market will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through Sept. 29.
