Google has released its second core update of 2023. Google’s August 2023 core update is now rolling out and may take up to two weeks to complete.  Google announced this on Twitter and a lot of data has appeared already in GA4 and GSC. Google Analytics 4 expands ecommerce analysis with 30 new dimensions and metrics in custom report builder. The new ecommerce dimensions provide more granular data on items, promotions, and shopping behavior. We are not a big fan of GA4 but it looks like Google is listening to feedback and making changes.

For those who don’t know, Google Workspace includes the productivity apps we know and love (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Meet, and many more). Turns out, there’s nothing new being applied by Google to make sense of AI content. In a recent webinar, a top Google executive said that they use quality detection for both human and AI content. The algorithm designed to detect low-quality content is good enough to detect machine-generated content as well. Helpful Content is playing a crucial role in Google’s fight to keep it real.
