Mask Maker Wants To ‘Buy Your Face’ And Sell It As Hyperrealistic Masks – Corporate B2B Sales & Digital Marketing Agency in Cardiff covering UK

It’s not easy to locate your doppelgänger. However, if your face is marketable enough, there’s a chance you’ll see strangers wearing it to look like you.

Is this the real life, or is this Black Mirror? You may not be too pleased with the answer.

Japanese mask maker Kamenya Omoto is 3D-printing ultra-realistic face masks that are literally of faces—but first, it needs some subjects. The company is thus paying Tokyo residents who would so kindly give up their mugs to be worn by others as face coverings for ¥40,000 (US$384) in a project called That Face.

The brand acknowledges that the project is straight out of “a science-fiction story.”

“We will buy and sell your faces,” it notes in a statement translated by CNET. It adds, “No one yet knows what will happen to a world full of the same faces as you.”

At present, customers can purchase an eerily lifelike model of the store owner’s face for ¥76,000 (US$729).

Those open to the possibility of impersonation will have to be based in Tokyo and be at least 20 years old. The store will collect a portion of the profits if a subject’s face turns out to be popular.
