Microsoft has announced a new ‘Cloud PC’ which will allow users to stream Windows 365 to any device. Yes, you can now access a full Windows desktop PC and its suite of services directly from an iPad or MacBook.

According to Microsoft, the new Windows 365 Cloud PC will be first rolled out to businesses, of which many have had issues getting all employees on board the same software since working from home became the new normal. Now, no matter the device on hand, they will all be able to stream the same Windows desktop.

The best part? As per the BBC, every user’s personal apps and settings can be accessed from any device – allowing you to switch devices without losing track of your preferences. You’ll be able to pick up where you left off, and never have to edit bookmarks or technical settings every time you swap devices.

“You can get the same work done on a laptop in a hotel room, a tablet from their car between appointments, or your desktop while you’re in the office,” the company said.

The new software will launch next month to business customers “of all sizes.” It will first stream Windows 10, before moving to Windows 11 when that’s rolled out worldwide.

Organizations will be able to choose the size of the Cloud PC they need, with different per user per month pricing. They’ll also be able to select Windows 365 Business or Windows 365 Enterprise depending on the company’s needs.

While there hasn’t been confirmation if Microsoft will be releasing a version for individuals, it shouldn’t be too far back in the works, considering the tech giant has worked on making Office 365 a subscription-model for individuals over the past several years.
