I was born and brought up in Varanasi and I completed my schooling and bachelors from Varanasi itself. After my graduation, I gave CAT. I even got shortlisted for Welingkar but the interview was in Delhi. Because of covid and the delhi riots, I was unable to complete my admission in Welingkar. This came as a major setback for me. I knew I had to do something in order to save this year. I then thought of getting a job but to get a job you need to have relevant skills.
Coming from a non tech background, I always knew that I wanted to make my way into the corporate field. I thought the best thing to do was just start somewhere. I did my research and found out that many firms are moving online due to covid. Be it advertising or delivery, the demand for digital marketing has seen a huge surge wrt employment. After assessing all the options, I arrived at a decision that digital marketing is the perfect field for me.
I then went on to do some more research. While performing my research, I stumbled across Board Infinity’s Facebook page and there I got to know that this ed-tech platform not only teaches but also assists you with placements. As I was clear about my career choices, I enrolled for the digital marketing course at BI. While pursuing my course with Board Infinity, I simultaneously took up two internships as a social media marketing intern. One was from a company called Cloud Sherpa and the other was from Divine Pathway.
The curriculum at Board Infinity is such that it teaches you things from scratch and then also dives into the more complex concepts. Once I completed a module, I made sure to practise these skills in the real world through an internship.
The best thing about coaches at Board Infinity is that they teach you the practical value of education. They exemplify how things are done. Even during my assignments, the coaches were extremely approachable and helped me a great deal. When it comes to learning online, it was way better than offline. Online you have this confidence of asking your doubts. My program manager Ananya ma’am was available 24/7 for me. Any problem at all, she got it addressed at the earliest.
Most of all, I am grateful to have Mukund Matta as our coach for the digital marketing course. Because of his teaching, I am well versed with all the concepts of digital marketing like SEO, SEM, SMM, email marketing, affiliate marketing and more. Mukund Sir guided us at every step of the way and helped us in our projects and assignments as well.
At Board Infinity, I realised that I can do Digital Marketing for a living. After every class I used to learn a new thing. There was a lot of importance laid on practical knowledge. My learning was that if you practise and do proper revision, the knowledge stays with you for good and it helps you in the real world. With regards to my personality, I am extremely competitive. I put 100 percent in all that I do and try to be on top always.
Coming to the job I got placed in, I am working as an email marketing and sms marketing executive at Andromeda. My job is to shoot emails, plan the strategy and get leads. This is just the beginning and I hope to grow and achieve bigger dreams in the future.
If there is one memorable experience that I carry with me from learning at Board Infinity, it would be to ensure that whatever you learn, make sure you practise it on the ground. If you are learning SEO, make sure you create a wordpress website of your own. If you are learning SEO, one needs to do SEO on their own page or get on the SERP page of google. If you are learning about an FB page, make an FB page. Practical knowledge was held in high regard and that has been a game changer for me as I move ahead in my career.
