Retailers encouraged to ‘Master the art of digital marketing’ to boost your business

Local retailers set to benefit from a tailored mentoring programme to embrace and develop digital skills

Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council have launched a Digital Retail Therapy programme tailored for local retailers to embrace or improve their online presence and develop digital skills.

Up to sixty businesses can sign up to a mentoring support programme designed to assist local retailers in online trading and raise awareness on creating effective social media content across various social media platforms as well as a number of introductory workshops open to retail businesses across the borough.

Welcoming the Digital Retail Therapy programme, Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, Councillor Mealla Campbell commented,

“This is a fantastic programme open to retailers right across the borough.  Already we have seen the results of the pilot programme and how this bespoke one-to-one mentoring and support from leading digital experts can transform and really boost local retail businesses using digital marketing and social media.”

Local Armagh ladies fashion retailer, Alison Wylie from The Dressing Room who took part in the pilot programme said,

“We participated in the Digital Retail Therapy pilot programme and as a result we have set-up an e-commerce platform Shopify to sell online through Facebook shop and Instagram.  We have learned so much on how to use social media and drive visitors to our online channels and to the store.

“Ultimately, this programme has increased engagement on our social media pages resulting in increased footfall in-store and sales have increased on average of 10%.  Our digital marketing mentor made us more aware of creating effective social media content and gave us lots of helpful tips and ideas which we continue to use on a regular basis.  I highly recommend other retail businesses to apply and engage in the mentoring programme.”

The first FREE workshop, ‘Maximise Your Online Potential’ will provide retailers with a diverse range of insights and opportunities for digital retailing and will take place on Wednesday 26 June, from 9.30am to 12.30pm at the Market Place Theatre and Arts Centre, Armagh.  To register your attendance at the workshop and to sign up to the mentoring programme visit

The Digital Retail Therapy Pilot was delivered by Digital Twenty Four between March – October 2018. Twenty businesses received a total of 300 hours one-to-one digital marketing mentoring support to help them capitalise on e-commerce opportunities for selling online, reaching new markets and growing their business.
