Spice Up Your Life…and your social profile | Kicks Digital Marketing

If you’re anything like us, you’ve been staring at your social media apps these past few weeks for some entertainment and connection. The usual posts are starting to lose their sparkle, and now more than ever we are in need of good, engaging content.

Whether it’s through memes, genuine content, or a blog written off of Spice Girl song titles (like the one you are reading right now), creating an engaging social feed and profile will keep your followers coming back for more. If you ‘Wannabe’ on top of your social game, try out some of these tips:

Engaging posts: just ‘Do it’

We’ve all been tagged in “tag a friend” posts. While they can get annoying if overdone, they are ultimately one of the best ways to create more engagement on your page. Consider running a contest along with the post to really up the number of likes/followers you receive. A survey series, polls, this or that questions, or anything that encourages sharing and comments are more likely to increase engagement and reach.

Try to include ‘Something kind of funny’

Don’t be too stiff with your posts. When appropriate, adding a bit of humor can go a long way. This can encourage your viewers to come back later or even give you a follow. Lure them in with the funny stuff, then keep them coming back for the meat of your brand.

‘Tell Me Why’ I should follow you

Social media users need a reason to follow you, so let them know why they should. Using interesting ‘about’ sections, including any necessary contact info and using real photography, you can make your page instantly stand out. Most importantly, let users know what your brand is there for. Professional photographs especially can go a long way. Check out why here.

‘Go Go Go’ get content

Through several clients, we have found that genuine content and in-the-moment photographs are what makes social profiles pop. This is something an agency will never be able to capture, but will make your profile genuine. If there’s an event at work, snap a photo. If your co-worker gets a dog, feature it. That’s the content loyal followers of your brand really want to see. After all, we are all real people and want to know that the people we are following are as well.

This is a trying time as we strive to find a new normal, but we can also use this time to reevaluate our digital efforts. Social media is a basic tool that anyone can use that can also have the biggest impact.
