The update which had been officially christened “Page Experience Update” will complete the rollout by August. In an earlier announcement, Google had noted that Page Experience Update is a new signal that ranks pages higher when their score is above a certain threshold. The change in the algorithm will completely alter the Page Ranking algorithm. According to Google, Page Experience will only be visible for the first 6 months that the new update is activated in the main algorithm. What are the underlying principles that lead to Page Experience? The primary principle is to better evaluate the user experience of the page. This will help the content pages to stay relevant and add relevant content to the page to match user preferences. When the user click on a link to the page, he or she is basically going to be looking for a personalized experience on the site.

Page experience is Google’s ranking signal that is aimed at measuring how engaging a particular website is in providing a smooth and consistent user experience. As per the details available, it is based on a series of attributes like the speed of a website, how well it interacts with user’s voice, and how quickly pages load. The Page Experience Update was rolled out a few weeks back. The rollout happened after noticing a considerable improvement in site performance for page users. As announced by Google’s David Drummond, the Page Experience Algorithm (an enhancement of the existing PageRank) is a consequence of the continuing search engine ranking algorithm that employs the Page Rating Algorithm. In a bid to promote the ‘low-risk’ routes, the Page Experience Algorithm aims at increasing organic traffic for publishers. Google have already adjusted their algorithms to cope with the Page Experience Algorithm and have consequently optimized the sites that remain unaffected by the Page Experience Algorithm. The impact of this update has led to a rise in the rankings of some websites that have improved their organic ranking, while others saw a decline in their rankings.
