Traveloka has teamed up with Biorock Indonesia to adopt 100 corals and educate local communities about the benefits of ecotourism digital marketing.

Biorock Indonesia’s recent partnership with Traveloka, Southeast Asia’s leading travel application for corporate social responsibility action, has been a significant step towards promoting sustainable tourism in Pemuteran Bali. The initiative involves adopting one Biorock structure, 100 corals and educating 100 local communities about ecotourism digital marketing. This is an excellent example of how a company can use its resources and expertise to positively impact the environment and society. The coral reefs in Bali have been under threat due to climate change, pollution, and sedimentation. Traveloka’s decision to adopt 100 corals is a significant step towards protecting and restoring these fragile ecosystems. The Biorock technology in this initiative involves growing coral on metal structures powered by low-voltage electricity. This technology has been proven to be effective in restoring damaged coral reefs. By adopting these corals, Traveloka contributes to the restoration of coral reefs and raises awareness about the importance of preserving these ecosystems. 33 Divers were involved in this during the “Reef Gardening” event, transplanting 100 corals and attaching the logo of Traveloka as a token of appreciation. The divers also clean the Biorock Structure and collect 113 Drupella snails and one Crown of Thorn, the coral’s predators. Biorock Indonesia is partnering with Mahotama Corporation for Event Organizing and with Karang Divers Conservation, Bali Ocean Reef, and Karang Lestari Foundation to maintain and monitor the transplanted coral for one year. In addition to adopting a biorock structure and 100 corals, Traveloka and Biorock Indonesia also educate local communities about ecotourism digital marketing during the annual event of the Pemuteran Bay Festival. This is an essential aspect of sustainable tourism as it helps to promote responsible travel practices. By educating local communities about the benefits of sustainable tourism and how to market it digitally, Traveloka is helping to empower local communities to become more involved in the tourism industry. This will not only benefit the environment but also the local economy. Part of the Traveloka donation will also dedicated to the fundraising for Power regeneration for Biorock system power regeneration. The partnership between Traveloka and Biorock Indonesia is an excellent example of how companies can use their resources and expertise to impact the environment and society positively. By adopting corals and promoting sustainable tourism practices, Traveloka is helping to protect the environment and empower local communities. It is inspiring to see companies taking such initiatives, and we hope that more companies follow suit.
