UAE payments firm launches brand-new e-commerce platform

Network International states Go-Online is targeted at regional little, medium and start-up organisations

Network International, the UAE-based payment services supplier in the Middle East and Africa, has revealed the launch of Go-Online, a brand-new e-commerce platform targeted at regional small, medium and start-up businesses.

Network International said its collaboration with a leading international e-commerce player, Shopmatic, lends it a “considerable first mover benefit” in the e-commerce space.

UAE merchants utilizing Go-Online can develop their own web shop and begin selling their products, a statement stated, adding that Go-Online uses 60+ ready-made design templates that permit easy item uploads and edits.

Samer Soliman, managing director – Middle East, Network International, said: “As part of our commitment to enable commerce in the region, our aim is to boost the e-commerce community by providing possible entrepreneurs a prepared first-rate platform with an integrated payment entrance.

“Go-Online will quicken go-to-market for smaller e-commerce entrants, enhance customer acquisition and instil confidence in buyers aiming to buy online. Our company believe our efforts are lined up to the vision of the UAE government as we provide assistance to the SME sector, the backbone of our economy.”

According to market experts Frost & & Sullivan, e-commerce is a megatrend for services in the UAE, valued close to $10 billion.

As smart device penetration rates in the country continue to rise, e-commerce and mobile-commerce are tipped to grow even more with online shoppers now representing 62 per cent of the UAE’s population.

Anurag Avula, CEO of Shopmatic, said: “The collaboration with Network International is a substantial step in allowing digital commerce for the growing ecommerce markets of the Middle East and Africa. This marks the entry of Shopmatic in one of the most interesting emerging ecommerce markets and continues to cement our commitment to supporting SMEs and business owners in their online commerce journey.”
