About The ProgramThe New York Road Runners Internship Program is a paid, 21-week experience spanning from Tuesday, June 20, 2023 to Friday, November 17, 2023, in which interns will learn from the best in the non-profit business. Interns will work collaboratively with professionals in their field of study and have opportunities to network across the organization. The selected candidate will engage in professional development events and will be behind the scenes making a direct impact on our communities in New York City by working during select events, including the New York City Marathon.Interns will receive onboarding and training to learn about NYRR and gain the knowledge needed to best perform in their role. The Digital Marketing Internship The Digital Marketing Intern will work with the Marketing and Communications Department, which constructs and magnifies stories and messages to help and inspire people through running across advertising, media, brand strategy, creative materials, video, photography, race broadcasts, editorial, brand presentations, and multiple web and digital platforms. The Digital Marketing team: Communicates different messages, including promoting our races and our coaching products, clarifying logistical processes about those races and products, celebrating the diversity and experience of the running community, telling the story of NYRR’s mission-driven work, supporting fundraising and membership, and more.Leverages channels ranging from international broadcasts to screens at our NYRR RUNCENTER, individual emails to mass media, and from digital journeys to race-day signage. The Marketing and Communications team connects NYRR’s initiatives and innovations to the hearts and minds of our community, inspiring them to run for life.This intern will report to the Director of Email Marketing and the Director of Website Marketing and will play an important role in supporting our efforts to engage with the larger running community. They will have the opportunity to work closely with a team tasked with managing our outbound email communications and keeping our websites up to date, all working toward improving and deepening our runners’ relationship with the organization. Internship ScheduleInterns are expected to work 25 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, in a hybrid work setting. This role will also have weekend work (Saturdays or Sundays) to support NYRR events.
