Web Design & Digital Marketing in a Post COVID World | Blog | Hush

Needless to say, the outbreak of COVID-19 has affected everyone worldwide, regardless of your industry or product.

Things have already changed with regards to homeworking, video calls and running businesses in a way that protects staff and customers from the spread of Coronavirus. These changes are here to stay. We’re not saying that this is the new norm and from this day forward everyone must stay 2m apart. However, in short to medium terms, we have to apart to our circumstances and surroundings. 2021 will hopefully look different to 2020, but we’ll have to wait and see.

There have been a few changes internally at Hush. Ever since the lockdown came into effect at the end of March, the team have all worked remotely from home on an array of web design, development and digital marketing projects. That’s the beauty of working in digital. We can pretty much work from anywhere in the world. Truth be told, the team has adapted well to the changes and from a client point of view, you wouldn’t even know that we aren’t at HushHQ!

However, we understand all too well, that with the changes to the world, the businesses we world with and want to work with will have also changed their working practices and will have different goals in mind when thinking about the rest of 2020 and 2021.
We’ve thought hard about this, and we’ve come up with a few ideas you should be thinking about in a post COVID-19 world.

The market you operate in could look completely different in a post COVID-19 world. You might find that there is a little less competition in the market place, leaving you in a strong position.

Don’t rest thinking that with less competition you’ll start to pick up more leads and sales. You’ve still got to put in the effort when it comes to your marketing output, actually, now is time to double down on your efforts. If you want to get the most out of the market, you need to be top of searches, your social media needs to be constant, and you should be looking at new, innovative ways to communicate with your audience.

Think of it like this. If you were running a race and you were in first place by a country mile, you wouldn’t slow down to let the other runners catch up with you, would you? It should be no different when it comes to your marketing. You should have a full marketing strategy in place for the short, medium and long term with clear goals.

Web Design

If you are making the right noise with your marketing and customers are flocking to your website, you need to make sure that your site is ready. Having an out of date, slow website will only hinder your marketing efforts. You need to make sure that your website is up-to-date, stylish and ready to convert all those new customers. If you are worried about your website, now is the time to sit down with the team form Hush (via video call) to work out where your new website needs to be to help you make the most from your marketing efforts. First impressions are everything regardless if a customer is buying in store or online, so your website needs to be the best it can be.

COVID-19 has helped highlight the need for robust CRM and staff intranet systems. With staff working remotely, everyone needs some sort of system to manage things behind the scenes. Again, now is the perfect time to develop a system to meet your needs. Whether you need an HR system building so staff can access documents online, or if you need a system to integrate with your e-commerce website, you need to make sure that you are building something to last and that can be managed efficiently by all.

App Development

Since the lockdown, what has everyone done the most? They have been on their phones. If you can’t sell your product or service face to face, well maybe it is time that you invested in a mobile app to bridge the gap. Retail app downloads recorded a 177% increase in launches since the outbreak. Don’t you think you should be looking at an app for your business?
