Austin Gilgronis Names Austin Willis Digital Marketing Manager – djcoilrugby

Furman Rugby Release: By Mike Miller, Coach

Austin Willis @ Austin Gilgronis: DJCoil Rugby Comment: Austin was previously the Content Manager last year, and has done a fantastic job in promoting the team. Look for more of his creative talent on display this year!

Since graduating a semester earlier in 2018 Austin “Two Spoons” Willis has been attacking life just as passionately as he attacked the game of rugby during his time at Furman.

Immediately after graduating, he headed north where he played semi-professionally for the Chicago Lions while working remotely as an analyst and writer for FloSports. During his time with the Lions, he earned a starting spot for the D1 Men’s team and played in the D1 National Semifinal.

When his contract in Chicago expired he accepted a job offer from FloRugby and relocated to Austin Texas where he began playing for the Austin Huns with his older brother Devon. Shortly after arriving in Texas, he managed to pick up a full-time job with the Houston Roughnecks in the short-lived XFL professional football league.

I am happy to announce that Austin is now the Digital Marketing Manager for the Austin Gilgronis in the MLR http://www.gilgronis.com He is in charge of their social media accounts, team website, and has been tasked with learning the ropes in their national marketing campaign (TV, radio, & billboard advertisement). He was also involved with the scouting process for their 2020 season.

Austin is currently playing D1 Men’s Club Rugby for the Austin Huns and still chasing a national championship. When asked what his time with the Dins meant to him, Willis had the following to say.
“Playing rugby at Furman means dreaming big, and that’s never left me. I made some great memories with people who I will consider friends for the rest of my life.”

Three cheers for Willis.
