How is Jade Clifford finding her Digital Marketing apprenticeship course? | Coinadrink

We now move onto our final apprenticeship update, though it’s a first for our Digital Marketing Specialist Jade Clifford! As you will remember from our “meet the team” articles, Jade joined us back in May and has carried her course over from her last role. Whilst the course isn’t new to Jade, then, it’s the first time we’ve been able to hear from her and learn how the support from Coinadrink has helped Jade to continue with her development.

1. So this is your first apprenticeship with us. Can you tell us a little bit about what the course entails?

I am on a Digital Marketing Apprenticeship with Coinadrink, in partnership with Halesowen College.

Currently that means popping into college once a month and the rest of the time working at Coinadrink, within the many divisions that fall under that umbrella.

The course involves taking the experience from the workplace to the classroom to work out how I can refine techniques. All to demonstrate to clients the benefits of the services provided here using digital platforms.

2. What was it that attracted you to enrol on this course?

Initially it was the chance to learn a new skill and build on current interests.

I enjoy taking on additional courses short courses to support my interests in digital marketing too, to add depth to my current and ongoing projects.

Now I find benefit from every day being different within digital marketing, there is always a fresh and new concept to build content around.

3. How have you found the course so far?

I’ve really enjoyed the course, it has been great learning on the job with experienced digital marketers, whilst having the support of the college and my assessor to lean on.

It’s also been beneficial to network and collaborate with my peers at college. We often feedback and signpost each other to helpful tools, strategies, or webinars.

4. No apprenticeship comes without its challenges. Can you tell us about your biggest challenge so far, either exclusive to a particular module or in general?

Generally, the biggest challenge so far in returning to college has been staying organised with working on the job, managing college days and childcare arrangements. Thankfully everyone has been incredibly flexible and understanding on that front.

My biggest challenge within the course has been my analytical approach to marketing principles. Accepting that there isn’t always a straightforward answer to a project has been a frustrating process. Working within a team and collaborating helps work around this blind spot and offers a different perspective sometimes.

5. What are your long-term goals and how can your apprenticeship help you achieve them?

Ultimately using the skills developed during my course and applying that to relevant content creation, to make sure we are shouting about all the great solutions available within our many vending machine services.

Beyond that, enrolling on the next marketing level course available to take it to the next level.

6. You are obviously undertaking this apprenticeship with the help of Coinadrink. How have the company supported you so far?

I have only been with the company for a short period of time. Before my first day I received a lot of support transferring my apprenticeship to Coinadrink. This was a long process and not one that many employers might have undertaken, given the additional complication it caused in the hiring process.

From there the support has just grown. The whole team have taken the time to get me up to speed about how the company works, the various services and solutions available.

Jade has been an excellent member of the marketing team here at Coinadrink Limited the vending machine company. She has brought a wide range of knowledge that has complemented the rest of the team, thanks in part to her digital marketing apprenticeship course. We are looking forward to supporting Jade throughout the rest of her course, and are excited to see how she can implement her learning into her digital marketing role.
